The end of one year and the beginning of another is a time for reflection. Consider the path you are on? Make the most of the path you are on. These may be dangerous times, but take the time to see the beauty around you and to wonder at the majesty of creation. Walk your path with determination, perserverance, and joy!

For people of many faiths this is a season of celebration, peace, love, and reflection on life. may your reflections, thoughts, and prayers be centered in the positive values of your tradition. May you be blest and may you be a blessing to others. May you follow the path of the Divine.
Once upon a time,
Long ago, yet not so long ago, The word was made flesh, to live among us, Desperate - we had need of the voice of God incarnate, To live among us, to live within us, to guide our actions, This voice has all the colors of the rainbow, This voice has all the sounds of harmony, This voice is heard, yet often not understood, This voice calls us forth to: Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God, To do it now, and in the days to come, Time and time again. Sometimes in life we enter a period of time that is essentially a tunnel. The immediate future is defined for us. But beyond the tunnel lies a decison: which direction shall we take? Will we choose greed, oppression, fear, and hatred; or will we choose compassion, respect, hope, and love. Our future has not been written. The walls of the present tunnel will not contain us forever. The future holds choices for us. Choose wisely.
The Winter Solstice is an event that signals the long night is past. The days may be filled with what seems to be endless actions of terror and sadness, but never forget that the love of the Divine touches this world and the lives of all that are in it. In the face of darkness and despair - keep hope alive.
It may not be tomorrow, or the next day, or the next. But one day the dawn will break upon a land and people who respect and honor the land and each other. Be one who resists those who attack progress and the dignity of others. A new day will dawn!
Sometimes when we confront the harsh realities of the world around us we feel as though we are frozen into inaction. Do not give up hope - for even tho a cold and bitter wind may blow, the seeds and promise of the future lie within you.
How can those who walk in great darkness see a great light?
Sometimes the dark moments of our lives overwhelm us. All that is light and love seems to fade into the gathering gloom. How are we to overcome that despair which blankets us? I have observed some say that in such a situation, one must reach inside of oneself, think positive thoughts, and change oneself. In effect, they are to ignite their own light. Perhaps that is possible, but I am of the mind that it is by the love of the Divine that the light pierces our darkness. I've seen this happen by the kind word of a stranger, by the tender touch of a loved one, by the listening ear of a friend, by the word of grace flowing in music, by the glory of a summer morning, by the beauty of a winter snowfall . . . My list can go on and on. I hope yours does also. Perhaps you will see Light today. Perhaps you will be the vessel to carry the Light to others today. Go in peace, and let the Light shine. |
