There are many facets of this photo that can be reminders to us of possibilities for thankfulness.: strong roots, still waters, reflections, the solid rock ...
Reflect, and may you give thanks.

The leaves have turned color and fallen from the trees. The waters have cooled and soon will be freezing. The sun rides low in the southern sky and does not give much warmth. Living in the northland, we know the cold days of winter are coming.
Yet seeing the sun gives us hope. The wheel of time will turn and the cycles of the seasons will bring warmth again. I wonder if the refugee, who is today fleeing the terrorist, sees us in our distant land as the sun. Does our compassion for them give them promise and hope for the future. Hard times now, but with warmer days to come. I hope we are, and I hope she does. One of the beautiful cities of the world is Paris. Today it is grieving. Pray for the people of Paris.
There is no direct picture of the sky in this photo of still waters. It is only a reflection. Do you ever wonder what it is that others see reflected when they see you?
Give peace! Some days I am able to share a small portion of the divine peace by sharing photos of this awesome creation. Such wonderful vistas may not be available for you to experience on a daily basis, but in your words and actions, you can make a difference for good in other peoples lives. Give peace.
What did you see first? The clear blue sky,or the bright red berries? Or perhaps was it the grey branches? All of them contribute to the beauty of the image.
I hope you see something of beauty today, and when you do, I hope you see the beauty of that which is different and which complements it. Every morning is good in and of itself. It is what we do with it that makes the rest of the day good.
It is late in the afternoon and the day has been cloudy and grey all day. That is, except for these few moments before the dawn when the skies turned these glorious colors. I think of how often the days are like this for so many people. The day starts bright and beautiful and full of promise. But then it turns cloudy and grey.
If your day has lost its beauty and promise, what can you do? It helps me to remember, and when I can remember what it was like, then I can live with color in my life even when the world is grey. |
