We all have our bridges to cross in life. Sometimes it is good to take a moment for reflection and thought before making the decision to cross. Consider where you have come from and where you are going. May your crossings be safe and your future be good.

This iron butterfly flies in the open skies north of Des Moines, Iowa. The artist's creation communicates a beauty filled with lightness and openness, even though it is created of a heavy metal. Can you take what is heavy in your life and use it to create something open, free, and beautiful?
This is the sunrise view from my new home in Minnesota. It may not have the lake reflections of what I was blessed with for the previous years, but there is beauty here. Look to see the beauty where ever you are.
I took some pictures of this cardinal that visited me today. When I looked at the pictures later I was struck by the powerful way that the rock posed above the bird, as if it was ready to come crashing down upon it. Of course, it wasn't, but it made me wonder what was more powerful in this image. Was it the beauty of the bird? Or was it the threat of the boulder?
So fleeting is the time the cherry blossoms grace our lives, yet their beauty fills our memories. For as they lie sprinkled upon the ground, they lie vibrant in our memories.
In the hazy light of a spring dawn I remember my mother. The blooming cherry tree was planted many years ago to honor her memory. May you appreciate all that your mother has done for you, and may you be a good parent to those you "mother."
My granddaughter noticed this turtle and we had to take a picture of it. Who ever thought turtles could climb trees? Perhaps, we tend to avoid attempting to do difficult things because "it can't be done." Perhaps, with a little determination, it can! May you attempt the "difficult" today, and may you meet with success.
I was lured outside by the sweet two-note whistle of a cardinal. However, the creaking of the door frightened it away. Not to worry, my view was then graced by the arrival of a raucous bluejay.. What do you enter this day expecting to see and hoping to happen? Perhaps something different will present itself. Embrace it.
