Last night I was out watching the full Harvest Moon and the total lunar eclipse. I was trying so hard to get a good picture of it (which I obviously never did) that I wasn't actually enjoying the event very much. It wasn't until I gave up seeking the perfect picture and just sat back and let the moment flow over me that the beauty of the night found me. It was then most pleasing. Does your "seeking" something ever get in the way?

Yes! I realized that recently, too --that I was often so absorbed in finding good shots to memorialize my experience that I was starting to feel anxious. Since then I have enjoyed taking only a few pictures that are "good enough" then forgetting the camera.
