As the rising sun burns the fog off a mid-summer morning the beauty and pain of a thistle comes into view. What will this day bring: beauty, pain, or both?
What calms the troubled waters in your life? Do you experience the peace of God through nature, through the living witness of others, through the living word? May you have peace.
Mosquitoes remind us of irritations in life. What are you going to do about them? Will you swat at them when they bite you? Or will you take some preventative actions to limit their damage in the future?
When storm clouds of life threaten you, where do you turn? This peaceful place, often the setting for beautiful pictures, is being threatened by the storm. But, in the midst of the storm, we can remember the power of the divine in life which gives it beauty, power, and promise. The storm will pass.
Do you ever feel that you are like this tiny flower, which is hidden close to the ground and surrounded by tall prairie grasses? Can no one see you?
The Creator who had a hand in the fashioning of this little wonder knows its beauty, and also knows the colors of your vibrant heart and life. |
