Touch the heavens or touched by such? We often go through our days thinking that we are in control, that we do the touching. However, the reality is often quite different and we are touched and empowered by that which comes from beyond ourselves. Will the Spirit of God touch and fill your life today?

To my God-child, Lauren, in celebration with her as she confirms her faith:
The world around you may be harsh at times, but your gentle and beautiful soul can be a witness that transforms it. Those who allow the love of God to live within themselves, and to shine through their living, exert a power that goes beyond our human comprehension. You may not always be aware of what is happening, but the love of God, at work in and through you, will make a difference for good in this world. May you always have the faith that is open to God. You will be blessed and you will be a blessing to others. This incredible photo, taken in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area by my son, Zach, leaves one awe-filled and momentarily speechless. Allow yourself some moments to simply immerse yourself into the majesty of the creation and the embrace of the Creator.
Now consider how every day is a gift that is filled with numerous possibilities. Open yourself to the touch of the Divine. May your day, and life, be as infused with heavenly beauty, grace, and possibilities. At first glance this appears to be a photo of stormclouds over a lake shoreline reflected in the still waters of an early spring morning. It is that, but what you may not have noticed is that the picture is upside down. It is only when you look closely at it that you notice items that reveal its reversal. Have fun looking at the world today. Who knows what you might see!
I startled this nesting pair of Canada Geese, and off they flew in tandem. An individual's life is often well-rewarded and satisfiying when solitary, but how wonderful it is to find another with whom to share the moments.
Spring brings new growth. This tree just can't stop itself from blooming. By its very nature it shows its life and vitality. I know some people like this. They are called "mothers". Their lives are in full bloom as they nuture their children (and others). They give and grow life! Thank you, to all who "mother" us.
We reach crossroads in our lives where we must make decisions and decide which path we take as we journey. Sometimes the choice is clear, but other times we struggle to choose because we aren't sure what lies around the bends of the different paths. We weigh the expected pros and cons of each path and we try to analyze what might be the most beneficial.
But in the end, the decision for a child of God is to remember that we are created in the image of the Divine, and if we true to that and follow our hearts, then our journeys will follow the right paths. Spring is color and sound! As the days lengthen and the trees start leafing out, the songbirds return. What joy there is in the song of a Red-winged Blackbird. This song in nature is a divine reminder to slow down, listen, enjoy, and celebrate life.
