Did you ever feel like your world is turned upside down? Or have you ever done something where you see the ripple effects of your actions moving out from you in a way you no longer control?
You do not control everything. Life is learning to accept new things and new views. Life is letting go. Practice letting go of some old views and perspectives today.

This picture is courtesy of my daughter, Rachel, who took it when she was in Nepal several years ago. In contrast to the images of devastation we see from the earthquake, this image is of peace and beauty. In situations like this we can not travel and help those who are hurting, but we can give donations to agencies that are helping, and we can pray for these beautiful and peaceful people.
Sky, painted with love by the hand of God.
Water, reflecting the majesty of the Maker. A new day dawns - moment by moment - love is revealed. Child of God, loved and graced by the Divine. Gentle Servant, reflecting the Maker's Spirit. Memories live on - heart by heart - love is revealed. Green! How wonderfull it is to see the new green growth of the perennials pushing their way through the remnants of last year's old growth. Imagine the joy the Creator has when seeing new growth burst the the dead tinder of your life. May the new growth of Spring invite you to show a little green in your life.
I saw these Sandhill Cranes as I walked today and their beauty turned my mind to think of one of Wisconsin's leaders in the environmental movement: Aldo Leopold, writer of A Sand County Almanac. I thought of some words he wrote:
"Our ability to perceive quality in nature begins as in art with the pretty. It expands through successive stages of the beautiful to values as yet uncaptured by language. The quality of cranes lies, I think, in this higher gamut, as yet beyond the reach of words." I wonder what he would say today? How would he call us to an environmental and human ethic today? I invite you to read some of his works. If nothing else, do an internet search and read some of his more famous quotes. I stumbled over this sight on one of my recent walks. It made me think that "Mother Nature" has a sense of humor, for this moss covered tree trunk resembles an old shoe. Is she giving winter the boot?
